MEDIA RELEASE: SHOOTING INVESTIGATION
On Sunday, June 4, 2023, at approximately 3:00 pm, Allentown Police Officers responded to a report of shots being fired in the area of the 1800 Block of South Fifth Street. A few minutes later a gunshot victim arrived at an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was identified as Edgar Gonzalez, 22 years old of Allentown, PA.
A short time later a second gunshot victim arrived at an area hospital and being treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
The investigation is active and on-going. There is no physical danger to the community at this time.
