The City of Allentown is offering a free skateboard camp designed to introduce students to skateboard safety, skatepark etiquette, and the foundational techniques for riding a skateboard.
There are two camp programs being offered:
Session 1 begins July 10 for ages 8–10 Session 2 begins July 24 for ages 11–12
The two-week programs will be held at Jordan Skatepark from 10 am to 1 pm, allowing your kids to immerse themselves in the world of skateboarding.
They will provide skateboards and helmets for all students to borrow for the camp.
Students are also welcome to bring their own equipment, including any elbow, knee, and wrist pads, which are not provided but recommended.
All students must wear rubber bottom sneakers. No slippers, Crocs, or any open-toe footwear. It is recommended they also wear pants or shorts for this activity.
This program is made possible through a partnership with Home Base, ensuring top-notch instructors who are experienced skateboarders. They create an encouraging environment for students to learn important skills like foot stance, balance, pushing, stopping, turning, and navigating the skatepark before moving on to tricks.
Limited spots are available!
Don't miss out on this opportunity for your kids to learn and have fun while developing their skateboarding skills.
