If you are looking to go boating or fishing in Bucks County and headed to Lake Galena or Lake Towhee, you might want to think twice.
The Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation found harmful levels of blue-green algae in both lakes and warn those who use the lakes to stay away if possible. According to the Pennsylvania Harmful Algal Bloom Task Force, the levels detected suggest there is a bloom in the lakes.
Please be reminded that wading and swimming is never permitted at any time in either lake (this includes dogs).
