Pottstown Police Department mourns the death of K9 Officer, Taz

The Pottstown Police Department is mourning the death of another K9 officer, K9 Taz.

K9 Taz has been with the Pottstown Police Department since May 2012 and was a dedicated and loyal partner to Corporal Jeff Portock.

K9 Taz faithfully served with Cpl. Portock, patrolling and protecting the Borough of Pottstown for over 8 years before retiring at the end of 2020.

K9 Taz was trained and certified in explosive detection and patrol tactics. Taz was also a former member of the Montgomery County SWAT-West team.

Taz passed away last week with Cpl. Portock and his family by his side.
