Yesterday was the renaming ceremony of the 1700 block of West Montgomery Avenue in Philadelphia to Christopher Fitzgerald Way.
Officer Fitzgerald was a Temple University police officer who was killed in the line of duty while protecting his community. He was also son of a former Allentown police chief, Joe Fitzgerald, Sr.
Fitzgerald was 31-years-old and a father of five children.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones.
