PHILADELPHIA -
The collapsed stretch of I-95 is reopening today at noon, Governor Josh Shapiro announced Thursday evening. It is opening just after 12 days of the interstate collapse due to the gasoline tanker fire underneath.
Festivities will begin at 10:30 with the governor and Carroll, along with Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and Philadelphia Building Trades members and contractors, with the official reopening set for noon.

Crews have been working around the clock to construct a temporary fix, made from recycled glass to fill in the gap where the interstate crosses above the Cottman Avenue exit ramp. Six lanes - three in each direction have been paved over the infill. Eventually, the infill material will be removed to clear the Cottman avenue ramp, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Permanent spans will then be built starting with the outer lanes of the interstate,
