In a facebook post, Upper Saucon Township Police reported that they experienced significant storm damage last evening. All Township resources are working with PPL, PennDOT and other agencies to clear roads and make repairs to damaged infrastructure, according to the police.
DANGER – Do not go near any downed wires – data lines may be energized and utility companies may unexpectedly re-energize downed wires.
Due to trees and wires down (possibly live), the following roads are closed.
All proper authorities have been notified and they are working diligently with them to restore access:
1. South Pike Ave (RT 145) between Oakhurst Dr and East Rock Rd 2. Route 378 between Saucon Valley Rd and Old Bethlehem Pk 3. Lanark Rd between West Valley Rd and West Hopewell Rd 4. Saucon Creek Rd between Route 378 and Saucon Valley Rd 5. Chestnut Hill Rd between West Hopewell Rd and Applebutter Hill Rd 6. East Valley Rd between Route 309 and East Valley Rd 7. Spring Valley Rd between Washington Ln and the Saucon Rail Trail
Due to power outages, multiple traffic signals are running on generator power.
They are aware of extensive damage in the Afton Village Subdivision and surrounding areas. Crews are working to clear debris from Upper Saucon Township roadways.
Homeowners should report damage to their insurance companies.
Please report power and utility outages directly to your service providers.
Upper Saucon Township is unable to assist you with restoring electricity or other wired/wireless utility service.
